I posted something this week that half the internet called fake news.
It did almost 50,000 views.
Here's what happened. Friday morning, scrolling Yahoo Finance, I hit a story so absurd I read it twice: one company spent $500 million on Claude in a single month.
Half a billion dollars. Thirty days. One AI bill.
So I posted it. And the comments lit up. "Fake." "No way." "The math doesn't math."
The DMs were worse. Founders I respect, telling me the number was impossible.
And honestly? I'm not sure if it's true either.
But here's the case for it. If this is one of Anthropic's biggest enterprise clients... thousands of seats, agents running around the clock, every customer query burning tokens... half a billion stops sounding insane and starts sounding like a Tuesday.
We've stopped counting tokens like they're money. They are money.
